Permitting Made Simple: Compliance When Expanding Rack Systems

Adding pallet rack may look straightforward, but from a compliance standpoint, it is anything but. Racking is considered a building-integrated system. That means it falls under the same scrutiny as structural steel, fire suppression, and emergency egress. Expanding without proper permits can stall projects, trigger fines, and even lead to shutdowns. In today’s fast-moving supply chain, those risks aren’t acceptable.

Permitting should be treated as a strategic step in warehouse growth. Done right, it protects uptime, lowers liability, and ensures that insurance providers and local authorities remain satisfied. At AMH, we view permitting not as red tape, but as a process that safeguards long-term operational resilience.

Facility Maintenance: The Hidden Cost Saver

In high-volume distribution and manufacturing facilities, time is money. A single malfunctioning dock door, failed conveyor, or downed electrical system can ripple across the supply chain, halting production lines and delaying shipments. While many operators treat maintenance as a cost center, the reality is that preventive service contracts are one of the most effective ROI tools in a facility manager’s arsenal. Maintenance isn’t overhead — it’s an investment in uptime.   The Hidden Costs of Facility Breakdowns:
  1. Lost throughput
  2. Safety risks
  3. Customer impact

Rate Relief: What the Fed’s First Cut of 2025 Means for Warehousing and Supply Chains

Federal funds range to 4.00–4.25 percent. This marks the Fed’s first rate reduction since December 2024 and signals the start of a possible easing cycle as economic growth slows.
For companies across manufacturing, logistics, and distribution—the core industries AMH serves—this policy shift has important implications. Cheaper borrowing could open doors for long-delayed investments in warehouse automation, equipment, and facility upgrades. At the same time, a cooling labor market and persistent inflation create both opportunities and risks.

Peer Power & the Big River Crossing (BRX): Running Toward Opportunity

Every city has moments when its strengths shine through, when community, purpose, and hope intersect. For Memphis, one of those moments is the Big River Crossing (BRX) hosted by Peer Power Foundation. On November 15, 2025, runners, walkers, and supporters will converge for the 9th annual BRX to support Peer Power’s mission of empowering youth through education, mentorship, and opportunity. It’s more than a race; it’s a bridge, literal and symbolic, connecting people across the Mississippi River and building momentum for a stronger future.

Mempho Fest 2025: A Celebration of Music and Memphis

As both a music lover and a proud Memphian, Mempho Music Festival is one of my favorite weekends of the year. This year’s festival at Radians Amphitheater delivered everything I hoped for: Widespread Panic’s two-night run, Tyler Childers closing Sunday, and the other amazing performances. It was a weekend that showed why Memphis is a true music city.

At AMH, our work is rooted in relationships and community. Supporting Mempho is not just sponsorship, it is personal. I wanted our employees, families, customers, and partners to experience the music and culture that make this city special. Hosting a suite at Mempho is one way we give back to the community that has given us so much.
The weekend may be over, but the music continues. I created a playlist featuring artists from this year’s festival to help keep the spirit alive.
